CORPORATE IDENTY THEORY ESSAY E4

CORPORATE IDENTITY THEORY ESSAY

The purpose of this essay if to show you that i have learnt and understood what 'Corporate Identity Theory' is. Then to take what i have learnt and use it to make my own Indent. A corporate identity is the overall image of a corporation or firm or business in the minds of diverse publics, such as customers and investors and employees. It is a primary task of the corporate communications department to maintain and build this identity to accord with and facilitate the attainment of business objectives. It is usually visibly manifested by way of branding and the use of trademarks.

Corporate identity is often viewed as being composed as three separate parts. 'Corporate Design' is mainly things like logos and uniforms and have a corporate color, this means the color is exactly the same and not a different shade, All the different shades of one color has a pantone number so that you can identify a specific color or tone. I researched to try and find the pantone color for the E4 logo and the nearest one i found was Pantone 2613. The logo for E4 has been designed in the way that the E sits inside the 4 in a cool design. The 'E' stands for 'Entertainment', also the 4 is because it is owned my Channel 4, so they put it together and designed E4.

The next thing I'm going to be talking about is 'Corporate communication', This is part of the company where the money is involved and the stakeholders come into it. This is how to company brand there channel in the way they want to reach there target audience.  Corporate communications is the set of activities involved in managing and orchestrating all internal and external communications aimed at creating favorable point-of-view among stakeholders on which the company depends. The investor relations function is used by companies which publicly trade shares on a stock exchange. In such companies, the purpose of the IR specialist is to interface with current and potential financial stakeholders-namely retail investors, institutional investors, and financial analysts. The role of the public relations specialist, in many ways, is to communicate with the general public in ways that serve the interests of the company. PR therefore consists of numerous specialty areas that convey information about the company to the public, including sponsorships, events, issues management and media relations. A corporate brand is the perception of a company that unites a group of products or services for the public under a single name, a shared visual identity. The process of corporate branding consists creating favorable associations and positive reputation with both internal and external stakeholders.

E4 is funded by advertisement therefore will have alot of adverts in between there shows, however they also advertises there own shows to increase publicity, E4 target audience of 16-34 year olds therefore the show they broadcasted are aimed at young generation would enjoy, for example the 'Inbertweeners' or 'The Big Bang Theory' these shows are comedies which a younger audience can relate to, therefore most of the younger audience will watch E4 due to the programs they show.

Corporate behaviour is the behavior of an organization when considered as a single body, the behavior of an organization is influenced by the arrangements for its ownership and control. when the owners appointed agents t manage the organization, conflicts of interest arise which are studied as the principal- agents problem. Corporate behavior within E4 is what they stand for, for example there shows do not contain racism or sexual contact at any certain point, however there is a water shed where they allowed to play some show that there can be explicit but if they play it after 8:30 it is allowed to certain extent.

In conclusion the word 'Corprate Identfiy Theory' is all about the structure of the company and all the diffrent apects, from the pantone colour of the logo to the marking and broadcasting stragteys.
