MUSIC VIDEO'S RESEARCH - RECIPE

Music Video’s Research

70’s – Elvis Presley – The Wonder Of You

In this Music video by Elvis Presley there are only about three camera angles of him walking singing on stage, Not quite a entertaining music video, I don’t think that it gauges the audience attention when he is walking around the stage. In this video it is more focused on him as a performer and a star.

80’s – Vanilla Ice – Ice Ice Baby

In this music video you can see as time goes on that they are filming different scenes and editing them putting them behind the music, As technology developed they don’t have many performance stage music videos and more of people acting in the music videos.

90’s – Britney Spears – Baby One More Time

In the 90’s Britney Spears was big hit, in most of her videos she is always acting and dancing and to portray herself in a sexy image to the public, As you can see as technology progresses the camera and image quality gets better.

2000’s – Justin Timberlake – Cry Me a River

The next music video is by Justin Timberlake, in the video the locations and the cameras and the sound quality are better so this means that they are spending more money to make more money, He portrays himself as a thug with a nice car to try and big himself up in the video.

2010’s – P!nk - Raise Your Glass

The next video is a chart hit by P!nk, In this music video she explains a story about people who are different to stand up and be proud, It is obvious because it links to the song name, She is trying to inspire people to do what the lyrics say. This last video is different to the first one because Elvis was walking around the stage with couple of camera angles bad camera quality, where as this music video has good quality and a different video overall, it wants to inspire people.

………………………………………………………………………….....

From the 70’s – 2010’s the music videos have changed dramatically from the camera quality to what is seen in the actual video. The technology has progress throughout the years as you can see and hear the quality of the sound and the quality of the picture. This means that as the videos have gotten better they have had to spend more money on the equipment to get better ideas and to change what they do in the next video to make more money.
