NME MUSIC VIDEO'S

NME Video Post

The XX - Islands
This song is number 29 in the NME top 100 greatest music videos, This music video is very different to other music videos as they have filmed approximately 30 seconds of footage and it replays throughout the video, It only uses one angle with the camera and just zooms in and out throughout. I have chosen this song because it is a band I'm familiar with and it is a very interesting with what the lyrics are saying, I think that this music video is really simple but tells a story clearly in the video. The editing in this is as simple as it gets, as the video repeats they only have to edit the first bit and just make it repeat.

Jay-Z - Big Pimpin'
This song is 96 in the NME top 100 music video charts, This video is trying to portray a cool image of Jay-Z with a music video with girls, drink and a really expensive boat. Throughout this video they use lots of angles and camera uses such as pan shots and also using a Steadycam, A steadycam is something that you mount your camera onto and it makes the image look smooth when you move around almost like the camera is floating around. They use a variety of different angles such as mid shots, long shot, ants eye view and close ups. The genre of this music video is Pop/Rap, this means that in this they are not really talking about a story but just rapping about cool things. They normally talk about things like drugs, money and girls. There target audience is young people who like to party and you can see all the girls are in bikinis and is portraying a sexual image of themselves to the audience.

Eminem - My Name Is?
This music video was 71 in the NME top 100 best music videos. The camera quality in this video isn't that great due to it being a very old music video and the technology is not as good. They use alot of camera shots and angles in this video to make it more interesting and keep someone entertained. The editing in this is a bit more completed as you can see that they have use green screen for some of the backgrounds in this, They edit this from reality to him on the TV by using green screen to edit it onto the TV. The genre of this music video is Rap, he normally raps about his life and what happens in it, sometimes talks about people who he loved but has lost and depressing things. The target audience for this music video
